Introduction

Galvanized Spring Washers also called split lock washers, provide a vibration resistant function, they consist of ring split at one point and bent into a helical shape, this causes the washer to exert a spring force between the fastener’s head and the bearing face which maintains the washer hard against the face and the bolt .

A spring washer, on the other hand, is a type of washer that featured a curved shape. Unlike plain washers, they aren’t flat. Spring washers are curved. They can curve in different ways, but all spring washers feature a curved shape that prevents them from resting flush against a surface without the presence of a load.

Galvanized Spring Washers

Advantage

Flat washers mainly stamped out of iron plates, are generally flat washers with a hole in the middle. The spring washer assembly is placed under the nut to prevent the nut from loosening.

  • Galvanized Spring Washers are used for loosening.
  • Flat washers are not loose-locked, and flat washers only increase contact area.

Difference Between Plain and Spring Washers

Both flat washers and spring washers are used to distribute the load of the fastener. The difference lies in their shape. Flat washers are flat, while spring washers are curved. For most applications, flat washers are usually used. For vibrating machines and objects, spring washers are recommended. Spring washers are unique because they provide an axial load that counters vibrations and, thus, prevents fasteners from loosening.

General Applications

Spring washers are widely used in load-bearing and non-load-bearing structures of general mechanical products. They are installed under nuts to prevent loosening of nuts. Its features are low cost, convenient installation, suitable for frequent assembly and disassembly parts
