Introduction

For use in a pneumatic nails gun, nails are assembled together in coils, that is why it is called as coil nail. The galvanized coil siding nails with smooth, spiral or ring shanks are often made of Q235 steel, welded to double wires or copper collations at 14, 15 or 16 degree angles.

The main types of coil siding nails include smooth shank coil siding nails, ring shank coil siding nails, and screw shank coil siding nails.

Shank Type

• Ring Shank: Ring shank nails offer superior holding power over smooth shank nails because the wood fills in the crevasse of the rings and also provide friction to help prevent the nail from backing out over time. A ring shank nail is often used in softer types of wood where splitting is not an issue.

Painting coated coil siding nails are coated with a layer of paint to help protect the steel from corroding. Although painted fasteners will corrode over time as the coating wears, they are generally good for the lifetime of the application.
General Applications
